The International Society for Krishna
Consciousness (ISKCON), or better known as the
Hare Krishna Movement, is a revolution of
spiritual knowledge and culture aimed at the
complete transformation of this world's
misdirected civilization. Established in 1966 by
the Founder-Acarya His Divine Grace A.C.
Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada, in New York,
USA, ISKCON is a government registered,
non-profit organization which teaches the
understanding of the self (soul) and the Supreme
Soul.
The teachings come down through the bhakti
tradition (ancient Indian devotional tradition)
through a Chain of teachers based on these
important Vedic texts: Bhagavad-gita and
Srimad-Bhagavatam. The society has since
developed into a worldwide organization of over
350 centres, 60 farm communities, 50 schools, 60
restaurants and numerous publishing houses, with
a worldwide community of over 5 million members.
ISKCON Hong Kong was established in 1981. For
over 20 years, our society has been actively
promoting karma-free pure vegetarian diet, yoga,
spiritual knowledge, and the beneficial aspects
of "Simple Living, High Thinking". Our society
is a non-sectarian, monotheistic movement, and
we aim to improve the quality of life for all
humanity by providing higher educational
services. We invite you to join us in this
process of bhakti yoga and make your life
sublime.
